Teri Lynn Hatcher is an American writer, presenter, actress and a former NFL cheerleader. She was born on 8th December 1964 in Palo Alto, California. She is the daughter of Esther and Owen Walker Hatcher. During her childhood, she used to dance and go fishing with her father. She is known for acting on the ABC comedy-drama series Desperate Housewives as Susan Mayer and portraying on the ABC Comedy-drama series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as Lois Lane. She won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her work on the Desperate Housewives, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and also a Primetime Emmy.

She learned ballet dancing in Los Altos at the San Juan school of dance. She grew up in California and attended school in Sunnyvale and college in Cupertino. She graduated in engineering taking mathematics as her major subject. She revealed at the Vanity Fair that she had been sexually abused by her uncle Richard Hayes Stone from the age of five, who was later given divorce by her aunt. She claimed that her parents had no information about the abuse. Later on, in 2002, she helped Santa Clara County and her prosecutors to file a case against Stone for a more recent abuse that led the female victim of age 11 to lose her life by committing suicide. He was given a punishment of 14 years of imprisonment for the sexual exploitation of four children. He died during the imprisonment of colon cancer after staying 6 years at the jail.
