Teri Lynn Hatcher is an American writer, presenter, actress and a former NFL cheerleader. She was born on 8th  December 1964 in Palo Alto, California. She is the daughter of Esther and Owen Walker Hatcher. During her childhood, she used to dance and go fishing with her father. She is known for acting on the ABC comedy-drama series Desperate Housewives as Susan Mayer and portraying on the ABC Comedy-drama series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as Lois Lane. She won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her work on the Desperate Housewives, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and also a Primetime Emmy.




Early life

Her father was a computer Esther was a computer programmer who had worked for Lockheed Martin and her mother Walker Hatcher was a nuclear physicist and electrical engineer. Her father has a Welsh descent of speaking and her mother has a half Syrian ascent and the half-German accent of speaking. Her father was of Choctaw ancestry and her mother was of Irish ancestry. She learned ballet dancing in Los Altos at the San Juan school of dance. She grew up in California and attended school in Sunnyvale and college in Cupertino. She graduated in engineering taking mathematics as her major subject. She revealed at the Vanity Fair that she had been sexually abused by her uncle Richard Hayes Stone from the age of five, who was later given divorce by her aunt. She claimed that her parents had no information about the abuse. Later on, in 2002, she helped Santa Clara County and her prosecutors to file a case against Stone for a more recent abuse that led the female victim of age 11 to lose her life by committing suicide. He was given a punishment of 14 years of imprisonment for the sexual exploitation of four children. He died during the imprisonment of colon cancer after staying 6 years at the jail.

Career

She had started her career in 1984 as a cheerleader in NFL with the San Francisco 49ers. From September 1985 to May 1986 she worked in the cast of the TV series The Love Boat being Amy. She also appeared in the recurring role from 1986 to 1989 in Penny Parker on a TV series MacGyver. In 1987 Lynn acted in the short-lived Fox comedy Karen’s song is the daughter of Patty Duke’s lead character. She made her guest appearance in Star Trek: The Next Generation as Lt. Robinson in 1988. Again in 1989, she guest starred in Starcrossed. In 1991 she acted in Hatcher’s next TV series Sunday Dinner.

From 1993 to 1997 she starred role in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. In 1997 she acted in James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies.  Hatcher also did movies like Spy Kids, Dead in the Water, Two Days in the Valley and The Cool Surface. She had won the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Golden Globe Awards in January 2005 for a role on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. Again in the same year, Hatcher won the Screen Actor Guild award in the same category. In April 2006 she became one of the most paid television actresses in the United States. In the same year Hatcher publisher her first book Burnt Toast: And Other Philosophies of Life. She had also done a hit film Coraline in 2009. She had also given her voice in a mysterious Other Mother, Tough Love, and Button-eyed figure. 

Hatcher was listed as number 38 in Hottest Women Of All Time by Men’s Health on December 10, 2011. She was crowned Chopped Champion on December 1, 2013, in the Celebrity Holiday Bash episode.

Personal life

On June 1988 Hatcher got married with Marcus Leithold but the following year they got divorced. Again on May 27, 1994, she got married to an actor Jon Tenney. The couple has a daughter named Emerson Rose who was born on November 10, 1997. But the couple also got divorced in March 2003.
